Ever since I was a kid, I loved film and cinema. My dream was to be a director. I remember saving up three hundred dollars in middle school to buy a Sony Ericsson phone with a sliding camera lens. I thought it was so advanced with its 3.2 megapixel camera. Who knew phones would be packed with 48 megapixels twenty years later.
Fast forward a couple of years and I got my first actual camera. Shoutout to my older sisters that gave me all of their hand me down electronics. The love for photography started growing from there. I took my camera everywhere I went and documented my life with it.
I would have never thought to make a career out of it but so many people told me I should. And of course, the number one supporter, my loving wife. Thank you for being my motivational speaker, my source of encouragement, and for telling me to pursue my passion.
Being able to capture moments that could have just passed by is such an incredible feeling. It’s more than just a photo. It’s a story. A story that doesn’t need to be told; but seen.
So yes, I am a photographer. But, beyond that, I’m a story teller.
Best part is I don’t have to write my own stories, I just have to capture them.
